Instead of black moving his king, why not take the knight with his pawn?

After you move the white Knight to attack the black King, there are 2 ways for checkmate:
1. The actual move that the Black King move backwards then white Queen attacked black Bishop.
2. The black g6 pawn capture the white Knight so the white Queen has an opportunity to sweep the floor through Qh5#.
