    faechungrox: you are forgeting the first 3 moves. So, 8 moves total.

    Yes, I know, but I copied mickyD's fen strip, which was formatted that way. He was trying to show a mate in 5 I think, but there was a way for black to prolong it to a mate in 8 in that line. :)

    Isn't there mate in 3 with Rf6 - Qf7 - Rd6?

    It's still mate in 5, i picked Qf7 as well, black King is forced to d8 and has to block with either the knight or the bishop on d7 for blacks 3rd move (after Rd6), supposing black uses the bishop to block you have 4. RxB... KtxR  5. QxKt++, so technically still 5 moves.

    Please stop spamming. The point of this topic is to discuss the puzzle. Anything else is spam and is unacceptable.

    And that goes for all of you on the first page (except fgsfds1)

    @fgsfds1:

    1.Rf6 1.Ke7

    2.Qf7 2.Kd8

    3.Rd6 3.Nd7 or 3.Bd7
