True it is a mate in 4
There is no way to fulfil the title's requirement of finding a forced mate in 3.
White is nicely mating with queen and knight after sacrificing rook and bishop, but it will take 4 moves, e.g.:
1.Rxf7+ Kxf7 2.Bxe6+
a) 2...Kxe6 3.Qg8+ Ke7 4.Nd5# or
b) 2...Ke7 3.Nd5+ Kxe6 4.Qg8#
MATE IN 4, NOT 3!!!
Why didn't the King just take the Bishop on Black's second move?
my sentiments exactly

Why doesn't the black king take the white bishop? am I missing something?
Way to easy to solve.
Awesome! I think I'm getting better at tactics, or this is just an easy puzzle. Lol Either way, I'm happy!
Absolutely - the title made me think for some time after noticing the promising 1.Rxf7+, but seeing no mate in 3. I wonder why the one who decides the puzzles (if there is some human doing it) made black move 2...Kg6 rather than 2...Kxe6 or 2...Ke7. The main continuation in a daily puzzle should be the best, and the title should be according to it.
why would black king not take the bishop, e6?
