There is a second solution

1. g5 h5    2. Rh5+ gh   3. Qh6#

1. g5 Bf7  2. Rh6+ Kg8  3. Rh8#

1. g5 Nf7  2. Bc2  and   3. Bg6# or, if he moves the knight. 3. Rh6#

Oops. 1. g5 doesn't mate in three because he has a knight check in my third line - 1.g5 Nf7  2. Bc2 Ng5+

after 1... Rg7, 2. Qh4, h5, 3. Qxh5++ isnt that a good solution as well

yep it's good but remember the goal is to checkmate the king...

good puzzle anyway. took me a minute to think about the first move.

how about 1. Bc2 Bf7...?  does'nt mate in 3...

i think 1. b5 ... is better
