Quite hard. White had a lot of good options going off.

I was thinking the same thing. And does anyone know why 4.a4 is wrong please? I don't see how both mate threats (b4/Bd2) can be defended.

Probably a bad puzzle. Once there was another puzzle with checkmate along a diagonal and it wouldn't work if you sac the queen for checkmate (which it definitely was on the e8-h5 diagonal) but it worked is you sacced the bishop. a4 should do the same job as b3 in my opinion.

Nice puzzle, had to hit help at move two 1.Nc6+...Kb6 2.Na5...pxc6 3.Rb7...KxNa5 4.pc3...Rc8,at this polnt I would have exspected  Rd8,to cover the winning move, 5.Bd2.I think black could have stopped mate, but know how game would have went had that happened.I hope someone annalyzed puzzle to see what if's.Thank's Chess.Com,for puzzle which was not as easy as ussual.Good day chess heads!!

How on earth does a 2000-rated player ask this question?

That is an extremely good question - he's currently rated 2082. Chess.com, please take note.

    1. Knight to A5 is still mate in 5 or less moves... can someone help me and point out the flaw in that line thx

third move by black should be to C5, instead to take 2nd knight on A5...holds 1 more move for black, after sacrificing bishop on the sqare b3...;) 4.) Rd1/Bb3 5.) axb/ xy 6.) b4 matt
