You people should realize that getting onto the first page isn't such an achievement.
OT: This one was quite challenge ... well, it is morning after all.
This study appears in Raymon Edwards book Practic Chess.
But you must admit that THIS is an achievement... :)
This isn't really a puzzle, more like opening knowledge and preparation. It's the Tarrash trap in the Steinitz variation of the Ruy Lopez where black's last move was 7... 0-0?
YES and according to legend it took the good Doctor about 4 minutes to invent it vs Marco OTB in 1892
don't get it
took me too long, 15 minutes
Be more positive - it took you 4x as long as it did a world-class GM, but you did get it. Probably the only reason I "got it" was because I've seen it before
He didn't really invent it OTB though, cause he already published it a year earlier."Tarrasch published analysis of this trap in 1891, but 18 months later Georg Marco fell into it in Tarrasch versus MarcoDresden 1892. Tarrasch spent just 5 minutes of thinking for the whole game." So no one really knows how long it really took him to analyze the whole line.
"...Long Calculation..." ??? .... no, it's totally a game
...should have put it in the game of the day.
That is one of the most amazing opening traps!
Basically a whole game...
Nice and long, great stuff
lenghty...but gud one....
Too obscure for me!
first for first
Could anyone explain why white cant retake on e4 with the rook on move 6?
(5. ... Nxe4 6. Rxe4)
6...Rd1+ and you'll get mated!
