The point is that being ahead by a Queen for a Rook guarantees a win between experts, barring something remarkable - and there is nothing remarkable for Black in the final position.
I have solved this puzzle.
pretty hard for me but I'm not very expert :)
Pretty logical after the first move, but difficult to see 8 moves.

It all makes such perfect sense after you've been through it a few times. And then you remember what Spielmann said: "I could have made any of Alekhine's combinations, but I can't get the positions where the combinations begin".
