It all makes such perfect sense after you've been through it a few times. And then you remember what Spielmann said: "I could have made any of Alekhine's combinations, but I can't get the positions where the combinations begin".

If you mean puzzle then it is on page one. I'm not sure what puzz means.
It would have been easy if at 5. f6+ Kxf6. Why was this not played, to take the pawn easy? Would it have been easier to be down a rook than face an advancing king? Could Kxf6 have been a more correct move? I don't have shredder or any computer engine to check on this. Could someone lend a hand plea?
After 5...Kxf6 6. Rxd7, white's material advantage would be greater than the puzzle variation, even though in the puzzle variation white has a queen.
