I presume the reason they did not move the queen in the way some have suggested is that this has been taken from a match? an enjoyable start non the less. happy New Year to one and all
What would the world be like without Pawns?
ridiculous puzzle, Bishop G7+ at first solved the problem .
Queen Sac necessary to stop en passant.
so easy day after day
Il faut sacrifier la dame pour empêcher les noirs de capturer le pion g en passant... bonne journée.
Neat - Queen sacrifice to avoid en passant capture of check-mate by pawn.
The en-passant rule was devised ONLY to prevent the 2-square initial pawn move being used to avoid capture BY OPPONENT'S PAWN. How different the game would be if, when the rule-makers instituted the "initial 2-square pawn move," they had decreed that ANY PIECE in position to capture the pawn in the first square of the initial 2-square move, could do so "en passant."
ridiculous post, 1. Bg7+, Kh5; 2. g4+, hxg4 e.p.+ and there's no mate in three. Also in this line 2. Qxh4+ doesn't work either because of 2. ... Kxh4. Next time you think a puzzle is ridiculous, consider the problem may be that you don't understand it, yes?
isn't Bg7+ Kh5, g4# enough?
nvm, I didn't see the en passent the black pawn could do
no he can´t because it will be g4+, black h4 pawn can do en passant since g pawn(white) is on g2

sousimy, if you don't play Qxh4, black could just en passant.
a good one
ez puzzle.how r a mexican and a cueball the same? you got to knock the sh*t out of either one to get any english!
I am still wondering what would happen after:
1. Bg7+ Kh52. Rh8
It won't be a mate in 3, but is there any way for black to avoid checkmate?
By trial and error, I'm thinking that 2. ... g5 might be a good response for black.
White would follow with 3. f5 (cutting off Kg6), and the game gets pretty exciting from there.
Both kings are vulnerable.
best idea for bullet chess.
