that was cool
Excellent puzzle. Solved with 1 mistake.
I put a lot of thought into my first move. Made a few misteps, but was on point for the most part. Great puzzle, I think.

Black can prolong mate for 2 moves if he playes king to g7 in 3rd move.
3... Kg7 4. Rf5+ Bf6 5. Qxf6#
not bad i guess
Some of these puzzles confound me but this seemed fairly obvious - all checking moves with mostly forced captures by black & little or no variation to speak of, leading to a mechanical solution. Not very interesting - I'd rather be confounded.
Can anyone tell me what "lol" means please ? - I keep seeing it in these posts.
I could not see the first move.
Hmmm. This is definitely longer than the puzzles earlier this week, but for me it was somehow easier to see ahead at least one or two moves and so pick the right move at each point.
Seeing that the sequence would absolutely force black to give up his queen was motivation enough to choose correct moves.
By the way, it was perhaps helpful that in this case I didn't look at the puzzle title, so I was just looking for the best moves at each point.
