Thanks for the lesson. A Rook Sacrifice leading to a checkmate administered by a Rook assisted by a Queen.
For some unknown reason, I spotted this one immediately......
what is wrong with Rh8-Rh6+ ?
Who else selected the incorrect rook for the first move ?
Maybe I did and maybe I didn’t. Who can say which Rook is “correct” and which one is “incorrect”? Maybe I selected a different Rook from the puzzle because I wished for a more interesting position.Yeah, that’s it. I like making things difficult.
The title helped a lot.
R1h6 was wrong because black pawn obscures rook's control f-file such as:
If you use the other rook, black can escape to h5.
It's not fair, at first I touched the h6 square and it denies it
i just hate giving up pieces,so it's always hard to get it first try when most of these puzzles are sacrifice moves.
so easy and nice.
Saw the idea, and guessed the right rook. At first I didn't think it mattered.
