that mate was hard to find.  I really had to look for that sacrifice to make the mate happen.

I enjoyed the puzz, but there seems to be a pattern to the comments.

    1. I see less people with higher ratings making posts.

    2. Those who do post just say "easy" or some variation.

    3.  Less posting overall.

    4.  Lots of queen sac puzzles.

I like the comment today about taking away the title and making it a hint button.  Most of the time the title is a dead giveaway.

The old classic UK newspaper chess puzzles had no hints.  You had to mate.  There were no options for black to wiggle out of the mate.  There were no times when the goal was just to come out with better position/superior materials.  Not trying to bitch too much, because I still enjoy a morning puzzle over coffee.

I would like to see more involving double checks, discovered checks, hovering threats by black, underpromotions and creative forks.  Sometimes these things have black playing like a first day player.

I also understand chess.com needs to cater to less experienced players as well.  The Sunday puzzle has a good purpose.  I usually don't start to get interested in the puzz until Thursday though.  Sunday to Wednesday it's usually weak sauce.

Anyway, thanks to the site for diligently putting one up every day.  I wonder, anyone, if the site takes submissions for the puzz?  Sometimes the alternate puzzles posted by members are more interesting.  Maybe have a member contest to compose the best puzzle.

What about c8xe8 instead of taking the queen with f8?
