    What is the object of the 'Daily Puzzle'?  As was mentioned above, this one was too simplistic.  Also there are two solutions to mate in two moves.  Perhaps the objective is to be the first person to post after the puzzle goes online...

    What better counter?  Black's only hope was that White would take the Bishop and yield a stalemate.  The only spot White could have taken the Bishop and won was g8.

    No, You aren't allow to take the bishop because of stalemate. Rg7 is the only move, all the others will not win as fast. If you dont have to play Rg7 you have to move one of your knights once. This makes it much more complicated

    It seems there are all kinds of winning moves until you realize that if the black bishop is taken on any except the back rank, then it's stalemate !
