Woo Hoo! I did this in my own game today... check it out!!
Very nice... a smothered mate in the center!
Whoever was black there didnt have a clue! Lol. Nice one though Queenslayer!
Good puzzle - interesting variation on the standard smothered mate.
Post #241 above caught my eye - strange that for such a defensive style of play, black doesn't castle when the chance arises. The mating sequence has real finesse but I think 17...Nf6 might at least have slowed white down. The last five moves would make a very respectable daily puzzle & there's even a queen sacrifice thrown in !
This. Nice finish, take the chance when you get it, but Black wasn't fit to run a whelk stall. :)
I liked this one. Helps me to try to remember to use my Knights as a powerful piece to use properly in a mating combo. Love the daily puzzles. Really beginning to help me to look ahead and at the whole board. Starting to improve finally.
Nice one. Well worked out and executed from the opening. I'm trying to get my game to that level of play. Very nicely done.
