I am just curious .Does first mean first to solve the puzzle or first to see it .is there really a competition for that? Are the puzzles posted in a random time of the day or is there a specific country time when the puzzles are changed. This is my first time I have ever commented on first comments. No offence at all,I am just curious.

Neither-- it's a daily race among attention whores to see which can most quickly demonstrate he's a moron.

Sutble one because it offers an easy queen capture but the mate isn't immediately obvious - that's always the problem when you don't know the objective. Some of the best mates involve the queen with her knight ...

If you played 3. Ng7+
Black would just repeat the loop 3.. Kf8 until you figured out you were supposed to put your Queen on f8 to smother him. He wouldn't take with the rook and give up the back rank cause he'd see the mate. If he didn't see his back rank was weak, he would have taken with the rook on move one, 1..Rxg7

Nice puzzle that underlines Em. Lasker's famous quote "When you see a good move- wait, look for a better one!" ...
