Not used to the puzzle thing! Much prefer playing real chess with real pieces. You can see whats in front of you then. Hahaha! You accepting my challenge ndskykng? Would like to see how i do against ya! Not on much longer tho so not playing live :)
Nah. I've been beaten by too many internet guys just using a computer to play challenges anymore. Not to say that's what you do, but I only play with my brother online cause he lives in a different city. Otherwise I play only chess live with people.
invite me to a short live game then :)
A good puzzle!
I got it but why doesn't black take the rook? It still delays the unavoidable mate... but I just think it makes more sense to take the rook... tell me if I am wrong =p
I thought that... also, is any reason why black moves his king to the corner after Night F6? Why not move to King F8?...
Daswimbush - queen would checkmate D6!
I'm at work, can't focus. I'm kinda posting here between patients.
haha fair enough! another time maybe
...easy, but I liked
First we ask -- what if Black had moved 1. ... Kf8 -- UhOh,1. ... Kf8, 2. Qd6#
So...After 2. Rxg71! black has several options, but no good ones.
2. ... Kxg7, 3. Qh6+ Kh8, 4. Qxh7# 2. ... Nxf4, 3. Rxh7# 2. ... Nxg7, 3. Qh6 any move, 4. Qh7# or, as in today's puzzle, 2. ... Ng5, 3. Qxg5 any move, 4. Rxh7#
EDIT: As ndskyking pointed out, by the time I actually submitted this,I had already figured out what happened if 1. ... Kf8, so the note below should have been deleted.
Now I want to look at the lines that would follow had black moved 1. ... Kf8.
I don't think I'm reading the post correctly duff. It says you want to see lines that follow had black moved 1...Kf8, but you already posted the answer to that, 2. Qd6#
I think you meant something else?
Too hasty - played Nh6 like some others. I expected the queen to play a larger part in this one but at least she doesn't get sacrificed-makes a change. Black deserves to be mated just for getting in that state !
Good insructional engame videos please?
