not a really a checkmate puzzle, before people get mad, here's my reasoning
checkmate puzzles usually force the opponent into a checkmate, meaning that the opponent has no possible option other than making those moves
for example, the bishop move in this solution could be responded by moving the e8 rook to g8, checkmate in '6' is automatically shut down
Look above you dude. The answer is on the same page.
strategic and interesting!
lame, as always, white king to g2 would have also ended the game the same way, so it is not a puzzle. I wonder how much more ads "chess.com" is gonna put out, its becoming more and more lair for ipod and isheep users.
That was great. :D
You missed a bishop.
beautiful. first move had me going for a while..
After 1.Bf6 why shouldnt black play Rg8? That would take away most of whites attack, but still allows them some defense on the open d file. If I were white, I would focus more on the open file. The suggested move is too easy to counter
easy as ish
another problem is to find the best move for black...
my favorite way to win, sacrifice rooks and trap king
nice, but still obvious!
Guys, it's just Lolli's mate, don't jizz your pants all over the floor.
To answer my own question, and anyone else who is curious, this is why you dont respond 1..... Rg8
Please be relevant, helpful & nice!
eh, felt contrived
If black really wants to play Rg8 then play 1...Qxg2+ 2. Qxg2 Rg8 to extend the game one more move!
A fine problem in chess sacrifice.
