4. Ra1 is not checkmate because 4. .. Qa5 blocks it
Actually, Ra1 still leads to mate except it takes longer. After the black queen blocks, the white rook captures and thenn the black pawn captures. Finally, Qa6# is still a checkmate.
Cant get any more straightforward than that. Just play most obvious moves, done.
This is really clever. One of my favorites!
ok what is wrong with 4.Ra1#?
Ra1 doesn't work...after the queen blocks, rook takes queen check, pawn takes rook.
