Sorry, but the solution offered is wrong (see post #19) as some others have pointed out, since black is given a discretionary (non-checking) move & can play either 2...Rxg8 or 2...h4 instead of Bxe8. These delay mate until the fourth move. I think it should be:-
1.gxf4+ Kh6 this is practically forced since blocking with the bishop still results in mate in 3;1...Bg62.Rxg6+ hxg63.Qxg6#
Mate should always be in the least number of moves !
