I'm afraid that your puzzle is incorrect as white can play either Qg7# or Qe8# for a mate in one.
no one mentioned the alternative Re8+ Nf8 Rxf8+! Kxf8 (Kh7 Qxg7#) Qd8# yet, so I will ;-)
Nice one. The bishop on g7 was very effective.
I solved this puzzle with much thinking. Nice.
First puzzle that I was actually able to see the entire mate before doing it. Feels good.
Good puzzle. Got it in one but that second move really held me up.
No-one asking why black's king doesn't take the rook on the 2nd move ? It's because it would pin the g7 pawn so that white could play: 3.Qh6+ Kg8 4.Qxg7#
no one mentioned the alternative Re8+ Nf8 Rxf8+! Kxf8 (Kh7 Qxg7#) Qd8# yet, so I will ;-
Sorry 'freelunch' but after 1....Nf8, 2.Qxg7# is the shorter route & black is supposed to frustrate white for as long as possible.
Seems easy after it gets completed :)
Tough One, took me a couple tries
sacrifice to lure!!
Very Clever Mate
The Ice Queen delivers again.
Nice one, thanks!
Brilliant Tactic, using decoy, then pin and finally end with unavoidable checkmate..
