Pretty good. You had to sacrifice the queen.
Most puzzles on here are queen sacrifices. Then we are playing and blunder a queen sacrifice to some unbeknownst calculation. Chess.com, always trying to push our pawn game skills.
not my first choice of move
didn't see that one
Are we back to the queen sacs again?
1.Nxf4+ exN 2.Qd5+ Kh4 [...g5 3.Qxg5#]3.Qg5+ Kh3 4. Qg4+ Kxh2 5. Qg2# several different ways to get to mate for white in this situation.
Wait, why couldn't black play 1... Be7 after 1. Qxf4? Isn't it not mate in 3 then?
Damn, didn't find it, only found this one:
If this was not a puzzle, most chess players would not sacrifice the Queen. This is a good way to train how observant you are.
I think this has been covered elsewhere on this thread but the point is the queen, if left on f4, can then mate black on either g4 or g5 ! Black cannot cover both squares.
thuis puzzle is pathetyically composed. Nxf4 achieves mate in the same namber of moves, and Rybaka confirms it.
