Uhm, I think I missed something?
Important first Move!!!!!
Took me a second too. After Qb4+ black can't capture with Qxb4 because that allows white to promote d7 to a Queen and mate (because of the Bishop on g2). Kg8 is black's only move.
WTH??? the queen can just take... can't it?

help a moron out why cant the black queen take on the first move? it isnt going to help black much but why not?

what? why can't the black queen take the white queen on b4
In that case Black gets mated in two moves instead of three:
1.Qb4+ Qxb4 2.d8=Q#
Even if the result remains the same, the variation that delays checkmate the longest counts as the objectively best defense.
this is why black Queen can not take Qb4+
what is this first or second page you all keep on talking about???
I couldn't find out first move until I read the goal: "mate in 3"
