Deltaquad, I don't understand your puzzle, black's queen move isn't forced and it allows the checkmate.
dumor, it is just an alternate move. You could choose other move, but after white Nd4, you will be checkmated in the next white's move. This is a Mate in Two problem.

I agree with A11axx and L-C-A-621 that there is other solution...But, it's mate in 3!

I feel ya FM Gauranga i actually saw the Deflection Re8+ move first so if it's a puzzle with multiple tactical possibilities then either choice should be playable. Makes people think the tactic they would use in this situation would be wrong and thats not good
