Protect the knight. I have solved this puzzle.
Its obvious white can win but the thing is finding the better moves is what we needed. good puzzle.

Best way to make these puzzles fun is to give yourself no more than 1 minute and you are not allowed to make an incorrect move.That really gets the brain going.
I would not have done it this way, but what I would do would not be a mate in 3.
