Four Knights Game

Unusual to see such a contrived puzzle on chess.com - any day of the week.

In this one, only the white king and two knights are relevant.  I guess the other six pieces are just put on the board to give us something to think about.  I count a total of 41 possible moves by the six irrelevant pieces.

But who would even bother to look at any of them?  And with the furher clue that it is "mate in one,"  what else would anyone consider but the one and only move that checks the black king?

why would you have that many knights? O.O lol

I know personally that our Lord is not racist, so neither should His followers be.

Here's essentially the same puzzle, with only one "extra" piece, but that one might at least give us a moment's food for thought - especially if we don't know it is to be "mate in 1;" we ony know the task is to find the "best" move.

Beside kings, only two knights are sufficient for this puzzle at f6 & d6, even no need of bishop.

by the look of this game, black has allowed white to promote 6 pawns..
