The bug is that the black king stays on d5 (in check) when it should have moved to e5 - which makes its sudden two-move jump to f5 make a lot more sense. Other than that, it was a nice fun puzzle.

Well no matter the bug, it's obvious that black is done with either 4...Kc4, then 5. Qxc6++, or with, what seems to be, the 'intended' move for black to 4...Ke5 and leading to 5.Qd6+, and finally with 6.Qf6++. A good representation of the concept that without a good defense, your offense just falls one turn too short.

I can't find anything conclusive against 1.c4+ Kd5! 2.Qd7+ Kxc5 3.Be7+ Kb5 and neither the rook check nor the queen check gives anything at all. The puzzle line was easy, but I'd admit failure if not for the fact that my subsequent computer check didn't find anything better... It announces draw after 1. c5+ Kd5 2. Qd7+ Kxc5 3. Be7+ Kb5 4. Qb7+ Ka5 5. Qc7+ Kb5 6. Qb7+ ½-½

Let's see if another engine finds anything better.

A check with Fruit (2nd place in the 2005 Computer Chess Championship) shows the same line and points out that black has a minimal advantage - or a forced perpetual - in a continued game after 2.Qxf7+ Qe6 3.Qxh5+ Kc4.

Anyone who called this easy just don't know what they're talking about here. Check all variations before claiming to have solved it! I very much doubt you did, even if a draw admittedly is good for white here.

i also thought there was a bug, but the King moves before whites 'second' move, you just don't see it!
