i think the calculation lies in choosing the first move 1.Ng5+ of 1.Ne5+. It is white who gets mated when 1.Ng5+..

Qf4 works too; it's just a slower variation.
Qf4+, Qg5+, Qf5+, Qf1#
1. Ne5 Kf6 2. Qf4#. I solved this puzzle.
qf4 is still possible because of 1.qf4+ kg6 qg5#
