I really don't understand that last move with the Queen by black. Can someone explain why of all the moves (taking the rook with the bishop/taking the rook with the rook) black chose what seems to me a ridiculous move with the queen?

Wow, that was great. Do not believe I would actually have seen that mate.
Yes, the point is that Black's king is in check, therefore he can't take the Re5. So 4...Qd5 is actually the only legal move, prolonging the game for one move.
This is why 4.Re5+ was the single best white move, so as to rule out 4...Re6, when the fight goes on.
Thanks for a great puzzle. My 5 year old son solved the first move and then we struggled though the rest.
