    Using the process of elimination helps me. It shows me how to look for the things that are not obvious. Some things that are not obvious are happening while you are dealing with the obvious. Experience will tell you what this means.

    Most tactics books give you some idea what the puzzle is about. I think it would be useful here, and in general on the tactic's puzzles, especially since there you are timed.
