    Unless the person with the rook really knows what he/she is doing, then KQvKR is not too difficult. The defender doesn't need to know anything special for KBNvK, the attacker just has to know how to do it.

    If the attacker and defender both know these endgames well, KBNvK is much preferred for the attacker over KQvKR.

    I don't know about that.  It's a 30+ move forced mate KNB v K and one slip by the stronger side will put them over the 50 move limit and get a draw.  KQ v KR is a little simpler though not much fun either.  All those deflections just for a QvR endgame/  *shiver*
