That knight moved strangely. I think I would have taken the rook, both times it was in range. It doesn't make sense to me why it moved away, or why the king took the pawn instead of the knight going for the rook.
If the black knight takes the white rook on move one, white' bishop moves to g2 or f5 delivering checkmate. If the knight takes the rook on the second move, the bishop once again delivers checkmate by moving to g2. The reason the knight moved to g4 was to prevent an immediate checkmate by rook to h2 and because of the bishop moves.
1.e4 d6 2.d4 g6 3.Nf3 Bg7 4.Bc4 Nd7 5.Nc3 e5? 6.?
This is the kind of puzzles I crave. I couldn't solve it to save my life, but it was damn worth trying.
