    What can you say ?

    Here's a puzzle I found on another site a few months ago - they publish one 'Easy' & one 'Hard' puzzle every day. This was the easy puzzle ! ....

                                               White to move & mate in 2

    Hint:  It's all about finding the right square on which to position the white queen.  Black has choices but there is no defense !

    Interesting.  Had I not seen it was "mate in 1" I would have moved
    1. Qb6, black is forced to move his Rook to someplace else on the 8th rank,
    2. Qxb7#

    Me gusta. After the key move, Black can take the Rook and be mated, move his King and self-pin the g-pawn (and be mated), move his Rook and be mated, or check White and be mated. Nice!

    Excellent puzzle; thanks for posting it.

    Just as knowing today's daily puzzle was "mate in 1" made me find the right solution;
    in the puzzle you posted, it was knowing the problem was "mate in 2" that made me look for and find the right solution.
