Nice puzzle; last movement should not be Nxe7+, but Nxe7#. Also I guess there is somewhere a missing title. I suggest an original Mate in 2.
General rule for solving daily puzzles: check as far as possible, and start always by sacrificing the queen.
isint it Ne7# ?
Also, no clever title?
If pawn take, then it's not mate?
why is there always a queen sacrifice?
intersesting puzzle?? i dont get it :/
Is this puzzle broken?? 2 Nxe7+
whats there to take?? isnt it checkmate :L
It is mate after 1... fxg4
then 2. Bf7#
Nice puzzle, nice queen sacrifice
The reason for the queen sacrifice is beacuse white is trying to remove black's control over the e7 square so that their knight can deliver checkmate there.
If black chooses to capture with their pawn so as to remain in control of that e7 square, then white can deliver checkmate the next move with 2. Bf7#
Its not a chess.com puzzle without a Queen sacrifice. How about if we find a way to save our Queen and let Black sacrifice their Queen instead . . .
OK, so it took ten moves, but hey, the title wasn't "Mate in Two", so we are free to do as we please.
Here is a better line found by Laturine in Post #31 on Page 2:
@Catalysts: if the pawn takes, then it's still mate but by Bf7# instead (with the pawn gone from the f file, the rook protects the bishop on f7).
Good one. If pawn takes, bf7 checkmate.
