Might be even more instructive if you just illustrated the 2 pawn vs 1 pawn "Block, attack, destroy" maneuver at different levels of pawn-advancement in the board. Then re-introduce the position with the zugzwang theme or with Kings on the board etc.
Basic? Yes. Easy? No.
