In the endgame, the bishop is better than the knight: bishops and pawns are natural friends.  But in other hands, such endgame may have a different outcome.

Yes, I suspect that against some opponents the above game would be a draw.  But I never agree to a draw just because two grandmasters have done so in similar positions!

 

I found a pretty big error on my part with an engine: 

51...Bg6?

52 h5! Bxh5

53 Ne4 and White should have a draw.

Correct for black was 51...Bg4!

It looks drawish.  Your bad move (51 ... Bg6) was not noticed by White, and because of that it became a good move.  Like tennis, a drawish position will go to a tie-break, and the better and luckier player wins (Federer is lucky in tie-breaks, e.g.).  Cool

 Bishop is better than a knight in an endgame ??? Don't think so. There are manny endgames in witch the knight is better
