Black wins

This is from a OTB game I played with an old friend.

It was a back and forth affair. I got the better of the opening then blundered away a rook

only to find what was very nearly perpetual check.

He snuck out of it but I gobbled up some pawns before he forced the exchange of queens leaving the board thus.

And there, with dinner time approaching, the knowledge that he's a tenacious bastard and the fact we don't use time controls I offered my resignation.

Could I have gotten the draw or better, or would I of just been making things difficult for the both of us?

    Yes.

    I screwed up the title.

It looks like you at least have a draw here.

moopster in your diagram, instead of sacing his rook, white can play 3.Qh8+ and win easily.

Frenzal, it looks like you got the board backwards -- if the pawns are moving toward the center of the board (as it looks like they should) then black is dead lost.

If all the pawns are somehow near queening as in your diagram, then it seems like white should win.
