Can I Mate?

Hi- I'm a chess beginner and I am having trouble determining if I have a mating combination at this point or not.  I feel like I have a sound position with some hidden checks and enough attacking power, but can't figure out what my best move is.  It's white to move and I'm white.  I was thinking the best move is NF7 but not sure where to go from there.

Not sure what the BEST move is but I don't really reccommend Nf7. Because if they take you with the rook on 8 you can take the rook with the bishop on c4 but then the king takes the bishop and you don't come out on top. They lose a rook (5 points) and you lose a knight and a bishop (3 points + 3 points = 6 points). Hope that helps.

If I do NF7, his only move is KH8, because if he takes with the rook, my rook can mate him on the next move

if you take with the N, he doesn't have Kh8 - the N will cover it.  looks good to me.  :P

his best reply might be d5, but then you get the bishop on g5 with a pawn up.

I can't make good moves with a small board. :)

If he moves one of his castled pawns then move the right bishop to block escape

Finished the game last night.  Just took the free pawn and bounced the knight around.  Wasn't a spectacular finish by any means Frown

    1. As you were asking about an ongoing game you should have resigned it as it's not fair on your opponent to get help + on most sites is against the rules.

    2. Don't worry about the spectacular just winning is enough.

Nxf7 wins a couple of pawns, so it can't be bad...

But anyway, you are already a piece up- I guess pretty much anything is winning for white.
