Here's a simple K+R vs. K endng. How many moves do you think is needed to get a mate with correct play by Black?

Please, do not be a spoil sport and reply with moves to support your answer.

Just GIVE THE NUMBER OF MOVES you have calculated to get a mate.

Please.

6 moves.1.Kb4,Kb8 2.Kc5,Kc8 3.Kd6,Kd8 4.Re4 ( Rook is more effective at least 3 square further from enemy king),Kc8 5.Rb4,Kd8 6.Rb8#.

Exactly. For those rated below 1200, the position after 3.Kd6 Kd8 would make one think of a mate in 5 or 6 more moves instead of only 3 after 4.Rh7 Ke8 5.Ra7 Kf8 6.Ke6 Kb8 7.Kf6 Ka8 8.Kg6 Kg8 9.Ra8#  or 4.Rh7 Kc8 5.Rg7 Kb8 6.Kc6 Ka8 7.Kb6 Kb8 8.Rg8#
