No, this is pretty easily won for white
Sample variation would be..
Here is an example of how a stalemate can occur:
Thanks!
So probably there is a bug in the Facebook chess application.
thisis true unless it is past 40 moves with black having only king
Most definitely, if this was declared a draw/ stalemate. This is easily won by White.
Dude,
I'd be really careful about posting a URL like this. Someone could just type http://home.no.net/sodasoda/images/ and then have a look at all your other files.
lmfao.
Ans a message like that would be more prudently put in some form of private message to sondre, like leaving a message on his profile :)
I second to this motion!
This is actually a very easy game to win when you have rook / king vs. lone king. The important thing to remember is to use the rook to contain the king and not use it to give checks unless the kings are lined up straight line across from each other.
Once the kings are lined up in a straight line across from each other, you can then move the rook down to give check. Since the king can not oppose the other king, it is forced to move down a row. Make sure again that you again use the rook to limit the rows that the opposing king can move and only go down a row if the other king does.
Think of the rook as a wall that is closing on the king and you only move the wall if the king can not go forward but instead must give up ground. This is why the kings need to be on a straight line.
We teach this end game to kids and once they understand the concept, we have them practice it over and over again till they understand.
