Is it me, or do the vast majority of Americans really not get sarcasm?

theoreticalboy

I think the vast majority of chess.com users fail to understand sarcasm.

Ben_Dubuque

sarcasm is the highest form of all humor and deserves a place among the stars

well back to the main discussion, what were you saying about Americans not geting sarcasm

All people from all places understand sarcasm

weather they acknowledge it is up to them

Notice for your aid sarcasm has been written, i mean typed in purple or is that pink

Lol, fair enough :-)

it should be obvious that reasonabledoubt is trolling. if K+R vs K and K+Q vs K+R are both forced, then K+Q vs K definitely is.

Incorrect. There are certain stalemate defences in the K+Q vs. K endgame that aren't applicable to the other cases you have mentioned.

CommieBDav94

some how i think he may be the troll here

but unless the 50move rule applies its a draw, regardless its polite to resign in such a position

oinquarki

Are all people this easy to troll, or just chess players?

It's an easy draw... just run your king into the corner.

i just did that but pushed him out of the corner...or lets say i gave him no choice but to move to the side. Obviously it took a few too many moves to mate him but far less the 50

Actually, I've learned never to assume.

glerpydoo

Obviously, K+Q vs K is a draw. with a little help of the "Magic Bag Trick"

No, you couldn't...  I bet you think that K+N+N is a win too if you really don't know that K+Q is an obvious draw.  Then again, you might just be trolling.

No, it's a dead draw.  Sheesh, study some endgame theory for once.

King and queen vs king is an easy win, and with perfect play the longest forced win is 10 moves last time I checked.

King and queen vs king is actually a theoretical draw with perfect play.

XD

This is really getting ridiculous: are we allowed to restrict forum participation for anybody who thinks that K&Q v K is not a forced draw?  I really worry about the distortion of thinking that may result in beginners who visit this topic.
