Can a player with King and Rook force mate against a player with King and Knight?

it should be possible, but hard. i never got in this situation, but as long you can keep your rook and king a good distance apart, it should be able to be done. Just push the king to the side with your king and rook.

The rook can win only in certain positions. Otherwise it is a draw. Endgame books by Fine, Averbakh, Dvoretsky, etc. show this

Outside of some very rare and unfortunate positions, this is always a draw.

It may be a draw because the knight may fork.
