Endgame Puzzle: July 23, 2009
"If you like the puzzles . . . track me :-)."
Can you name this great endgame player?

Hint: Cuban World Chess Champion from 1921-1927. Known for his exceptional (and I do mean exceptional) endgame skill and speed of play. He was concerned that the future of chess with opening theory would become stagnated (sound familiar?) and proposed a 10x10 board with two extra pieces per side.
Quote: "A passed pawn increases in strength as the number of pieces on the board diminishes."
