What does anyone know about Chess960? Here is what I read at Wikipedia.

Yea, it is a great challenge to play. It really ticks off my friends when I castle from all the way across =P. Its a good way to learn some unique attacks.

The main point is that the single starting position the Chess we all know has been analyzed to the hilt. GM's may be 25 moves or more into a game before they are out of known theory and they often agree to a draw before this point is ever reached. With 960 diferent possible starting positions you have to start from an unknow unanalyzed position right from move 1. Different forms of shuffle-chess have been proposed, but Chess960, also called Fischerandom Chess after the guy who proposed it ( a Bobby Something-or-other...), seems to have become the standard and is taken seriously at by players of the highest levels.
