I might add that it was a lot of fun dancing to the music under all that creepy plastic stuff, swinging my arms around and 'floating' like a ghost across the floor. Felt like I was flying!

I think there were too many contestants, Cath, I was lucky to be selected as one of the 8, 9 or 10 finalists. It was still a fun time.

The Ghastly Chess Nerd was haunted after Halloween's American Legion costume contest by NOT taking even 3rd place! He was dressed for success in too short pants held up by suspenders, pocket protector holding an abundance of pens & pencils, much tape between the lenses of his sunglasses, nerdy penny loafer shoes, white socks (ha!), a face painted as a skull or ghoul, and all of this under stretch wrap (the plastic used for shipping things out on pallets). Also, he carried chessboard with pieces taped so they wouldn't slip off as he carried them around. Best of all, the plastic was ILLUMINATED by white and blue mini-lights!!! So he was all aglow but so saddened not to finish in the top three. Missed out on the prize money! :CRY:
On top of all that disappointment, my friend who had smartphone to take photo to send to my email so I could share it here on Chess.com did NOT show up! So I apologize for not providing a photo. I only have a dumb flip phone.
I assure you all, The Ghastly Chess Nerd will return next Halloween, even ghastlier, bloodier, scarier than ever to win the contest and put CHESS back on the map!!!!!
