Today, in my English class at university, my instructor told us to free-write for only 2 minutes about something we're obsessed with.

A little side-note: I have a very "lyrical" thought-process when I'm given creative freedom. We weren't supposed to write with rhyme; I just kind of do that alot cuz I'm weird. =/ haha

Anyway, I wanted to share with you all how it turned out. Thanks for reading and giving your comments. =)

[Please bear in mind that this was done as a class-activity in only 2 minutes, so though it seems pretty poor, and I know it does, I still think it's a fun read.]

Forget the spheres and ellipses, eight-by-eight is the world for me.

Sixty-four different lands to be seen, sixty-four different places to be; in one lies your foe and in one rests thy king.

Though my studies in school are for an English degree, playing chess for life is the ultimate dream.

I travel and do battle and defend my keep; the only worry now is if I'll get to sleep.

Be of ivory or the ebony, my pieces are always working in such harmony.

In a fancy home or simply on the street, a chess player at heart is what I'll always be.
