The strength of a piece is based on mobility, not its ability to capture. To have more than double the knights as queens is pointless unless you're under the impression the queens can capture 2 at a time or some nonsense.

but with 8 queens, black has 72 points, while with 23 knights white only has 69!!!
I'd say that puts white in a good position.

Yes, defintely! Black can get nowhere near White's King. White can just leapfrog his Knights over each other and will eventually get in several forks to gain a big material advantage
