Alright- at first I thought this was from "Apostrophe" but I looked at the liner notes and no such line.  My guess it is from either "Zoot Alures" or "Over Night Sensation" but can't remember which.  I know they repeat it often during the chorus.

edit - I searched it, can't believe I couldn't remember.  Black Napkin is one of  my favorites!

My first Zappa album, and my second favourite to date (I don't yet have them all, but I do like Hot Rats better).

I had to look it up, and I'm still not certain, but I suspect you're refering to this innovation:

Incidentally, Bobby Brown Goes Down is a brilliant song off of that album.

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Here's one from a classic rock anthem.  One hint - Army members know it.

     Twelve oclock, I gotta rock
Theres a truck ahead, lights starin at my eyes
Oh my god, no time to turn
I got to laugh cause I know Im gonna die
     ...Why

I can't believe no body came up with this one.  Ok, I'll add another hint.

Army members know it.               An Ace plays it.

Okay, one that I virtually guarantee no one will get (which is tragic, since it was one of the best songs of 1978--but it's only available on vinyl):

all your families were so worried

when you said you had to change

all of you grew up to be someone

and none of you were strange

Solutions to my earlier ones:

22nd Psalm--"Hang On To Your Life" by The Guess Who

"what happened to our heroes"--"Woe is Me" by Joan Jett

Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day's useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none.

Senior citizens wish they were young.

The finale of Days of Future Passed (at the end of "Nights In White Satin").

How can you say that you're not responsible

What does it have to do with me?

What's my reaction, what should it be -

Confronted by this latest atrocity.

Hide my head in my hands, shame wells in my throat

Our comfortable existence is reduced to a shallow meaningless party

It seems that when some innocents die,

all we can offer them is a page in some magazine

Too many cameras and not enough food -

this is what we've seen.

your friends with their fancy persuading

won't admit that it's part of their scheme

but I can't help but have my suspicions

cause I ain't quite as dumb as I seem

you said you was never intending

to break up our scene in this way

but there ain't any use in pretending

it could happen to us any day

and I floated like a leaf

This song was written by a guy who later became friends with Bernie Taupin, who would co-write songs with Elton John on a regular basis.  (see above lyrics)

Mommy where's daddy? He's been gone for so long.
Do you think he'll ever come home?

I was gone for fourteen days
I coulda been gone for more
Held up in the intensive care ward
lyin on the floor

I was gone for all those days
but I, was not all alone
I made friends with a lot of people
in the danger zone

See my lonely life unfold
I see it every day
See my only mind explode
Since I've gone away

I think I lost some weight there
and I--- I'm sure I need some rest
Sleepin don't come very easy
in a straight white vest

Should like to see that little children
She's only four years old--- old
I'd give her back all of her play things
even, even the ones I stole
