I don't know, Qe2 might be viable,it certainly panned out fairly well, the worst I would have done with qf6 was get into a really hectic endgame

Fritz says d4 is winnin gfor you but Qe2 is winning... not that that is an absolute but still I think d4 was better
I prefer Qe2 to the moves I had been playing
