A couple of years ago, there was a big chess tournament in New York city. It was not a high level tournament, but it attracted club players from all over the country to come and play. Many of the players stayed at the same hotel near the tournament venue in Manhattan, and at the end of the first day they were all sitting around in the lobby and going over notes on their wins from the day. It was well past midnight, and finally the manager came to them and asked them to leave. One of the players asked, "What are you kicking us out for? We're behaving ourselves."

The manager replied: "I'm sorry, but I just can't stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer!"
