Honestly I started this thread because it makes me giggle at those of you who take this game so seriously. Chess and Drinking go together because they are both forms of entertainment! I play better sober , but honestly if I want to have 1 or two (or ten) beers during a game who are you to judge?

It is a game... and for 99% of us on this site, it is not our profession . many of you treat the game of chess as a sacared game, it may be to you..but to me it is a game I love to play....how I want to play it.

Cheers...Bottoms up!

I have played chess in many a bar, sloshed out of my mind.  Does it affect my play?  You betcha.  Do I really care all that much?  Not at the moment haha.  I can still beat the players who "know the moves" when I'm totally blitzed, and would never go to a tournament game under the influence (well, OK, never say never...), so the occasional social game while having a few spirits is great, in my book.  :)
